As a Financial Adviser I have come to recognize certain periods of the year that have unique spending patterns. Christmas is a religious celebration for some, a time to spend with family for others, but for us (the financial advisers) it’s a time where all the advice in the world couldn’t change our client’s budgets.
So with this in mind, and the enormous amounts of money you are about to spend on your Christmas shopping and holidays I thought I could have some fun by sharing some of my favourite Christmas Finance quotes. I’ve also added one of my own at the bottom! Feel free to join in!
“There are a lot of things money can’t buy. Not one of them is on my son’s list” — Milton Berle
“The excellence of a gift lies in its appropriateness rather than in its value” — Charles Dudley Warner
“In suggesting gifts: Money is appropriate, and one size fits all.” — William Randolph Hearst
“Christmas begins about the first of December with an office party and ends when you finally realize what you spent, around April fifteenth of the next year” — P.J. O’Rourke
“What’s Christmas time to you but a time for paying bills without money; a time for finding yourself a year older, but not an hour richer.” — Ebenezer Scrooge Charles Dickens
“Invest your time into first thinking about the Christmas gifts you buy. The amount of money spent on Christmas Gifts people never open, use or eat, could provide food, clothes and shelter to people that need it more than you and I.” – John Russell
